The Freshness via Tr;Outcastz

We understand Jon Hanson ( Tr;Outcastz ) is super busy with the opening of his new shop ProFly but we love the above edit, and can’t wait for more.  From Jon:

Prep’s ‘N Mem’s 2011 vs. 2012.  Something fresh, something old..  I’ve done them both…  But not like this.  Or have I? Enjoy!

GAIA Reel review via Fly Fishing Magazine

Here’s an excerpt from a recent review about our GAIA Fly Reel in Fly Fishing Magazine:

Anyone looking to buy a distinctive, small, light reel for a for a #2/3 rod (or even a #4/5 rod) for fishing small brooks and streams for funky little wild brownies will have fun doing it with one of these reels. And who knows how much it might be worth in a few years!

Introducing Imago IPT Rods

To celebrate the RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival we’re offering 20% off our IPT rods.

We LOVE fly-fishing films, nothing motivates and inspires us more than watching fly-fishing adventures on the big screen.  Against our best judgement, to celebrate the RISE Film Festival, we’ve decided to offer 20% off our IPT rods at select retailers until March 31, 2012.

HRH (Switzerland), Capricorn, Jakto, Hökensås Sportfiske, Profly (Sweden), High Mountain Outfitters (US), and Mavungana Fly Fishing (South Africa) are all helping us celebrate.  Stop by their websites or stores and get yourself an IPT Rod!  Follow our blog, twitter, and/or Facebook for updates on additional retailers.

IPT stands for Imago Performance Tool, although you’ll want to hang our stripped down work of art on your wall – this rod was designed from the perspective of a Trout-Bum lifestyle:  Used everyday, all day.  Built by our own team and facility in the USA.

We product tested the IPT around the world to make it what it is today, check out our latest video of IPT product testing in the craggy waters of Rock Creek, Montana, USA.

Breathe. Trailer presented by Imago Fly Fishing

A people film about fly-fishing and work.

What do you do when the current of work grows so strong you start to drown in it? You take off fishing the scenic waterways of Montana where trout, and the people catching them, teach you how to breathe again. Follow the journey of one man’s fishing adventure that takes him across the state of Montana in search of the next fish, fresh perspective and a more fulfilling life — after all, staying afloat in this contemporary world is a challenge.

How do you Breathe?

A Film by: RC Cone
Written by: Zack Wheeler and RC Cone
Presented by: Imago Fly Fishing

Breathe will be on the RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival.

Review: The Limp Cobra on the Imago 9ft 5wt

Marc Fauvet, FFF certified casting instructor and author of the excellent blog: The Limp Cobra, has had a go with the #5 IPT rods.

I asked myself the following question: “If you were to have just one 9′ 5wt would one of these rods be your choice?” and the answer was yes. I do prefer the fast model but that’s only because i have a preference for faster rods. Both perform flawlessly and in an ideal world I’d have both!

Check out the rest of Marc’s review here.  Thanks for the review Marc!

Great review on our IPT Rods in Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Magazine

Imago Fly Fishing IPT Rods

Magnus Angus spells it out quite nicely in the latest review from Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Magazine.

Decisions about how a rod will look influence how it will perform – even a layer of paint on a blank makes a change to the way that blank behaves. Imago have designed their rods to be and to look functional, and the spartan build is intended to inhibit the performance of the blank as little as possible.
